Nominations European Breeder of the Year 2025

Eurogenes organizes for the 2nd time the European Breeder of the Year 2025 contest! With a great line-up of breeders in Europe. In total 10 breeders are entered for the competion from Europe with a great influence for the breed. Pick your favorite breeder of 2025 before thursday december the 18th, 05.00 p.m. (Dutch Time).

The nominations:

Mts. Steegink (NL)
Mts. Steegink had a fantastic show year. Last month, during the National HHH Show, they took home the Grand Champion Red&White with Heerenbrink Dolly Rae Jordy EX-93-NL EX-95-MS and the Grand Champion Black&White with Heerenbrink Angelina. Angelina is a Devour daughter, co-owned with ALH Genetics, goes back to KHW Regiment Apple-Red EX-96-USA and was recently classified with EX-94-NL with EX-96 for her tremendous udder!
 

Mattenhof Holsteins (CH)
Mattenhof Harris came in is the Nr. 1 Conformation sire in December 2025 at +18 Conformation. His first daughters leave quite an impression and won their class several times at the coloured shavings. The cows at Mattenhof Holsteins also know how to perform in the show ring! Last weekend during the Jr. Expo Bulle 2025 became Mattenhof Crushtime Horsika 1st in her class. She is a Crushtime daughter straight out of Hanna-Vray EX-96-CH, the full sister to the European Champion Galys-Vray EX-94-CH, both owned by Mattenhof Holsteins. They sell several cows each year, including Mattenhof Achilles Santina VG-88-NL VG-89-MS 2yr., who was crowned as R&W 2yr. old Champion in the Netherlands last month.
 

Loh-An Holsteins (DE)
Loh-An Holsteins is one of the great type farms in Germany. One of their successful breeding products is Loh Dice Red @ Synetics. This Diamondback *RC son out of Luck-E Redburst Aphrodite Red delivered the class winner Winter Heifer Calf during the World Dairy Expo 2025. One of their successful show cows was Loh Lillibrax EX-95-DE, who won several titles, including H.M. Int. Champion Schau der Besten! Among the absolute highlights at the Schau der Besten 2025 was the Reserve Grand title for the fantastic Lambda daughter Loh Milana. But also certainly the majestic performance of the nearly twelve-year-old Gold Chip daughter Loh Lippi, who amidst loud applause obtained Honourable Mention in the production class. The queen’s class, which was won by Lippi’s Cinderdoor daughter Loh Lipa Dua.
 

Sabbiona Holsteins (IT)
One of the great successes of Sabbiona Holsteins was with Sabbiona Doorman Tiky EX-97-IT this year! This unique Doorman daughter is the highest classified cow in Italy, produced in 7 lactations 111.405kgM and was 2nd in her class with production cows and Honorable Mention Grand Champion durig the international show in Cremona 2 weeks ago. They've bred many interesting heifers and bulls with for example Sabbiona 761, a Hangover heifer at +3.21 PTAT! Or Sabbiona Urus @ Semex, he is an Anahita son at +18 Conformation! 

Cristella Holsteins (IT)
Cristella Holsteins dominates this December 2025 run the females rankings! The Nr. 1 GTPI female in Europe is bred by Cristella Holsteins, she is a Mican daughter at +3516 GTPI! The R&W Reserve Grand Champion of the International Dairy Show in Cremona last November 2025 is bred by Cristella Holsteins, her name is Cristella Sailer Red, sired by Top-Red! AI companies like Inseme, Intermizoo, ABS and Semex keep a close eye on this Italian farm: Cristella, owned by the Marchi-Balestreri family. That is not surprising, because for a number of years already, Cristella has been making steady progress, with high DNA indexes achieved with their own cow families. 
 

Zwanebloem Holsteins (BE)
Zwanebloem Holsteins, owned by the Masscheleyn family, is an inspiring and modern dairy farm. The farm has approximately 900 cows in production and 700 youngstock. The farm has a biogas installation and supplies 1000 households with electricity. The farm focuses on high-quality cattle genetics. In October 2025, Zwanebloem Karl Coba 3718 made her debut in the top 50 female GTPI heifers with +3332 GTPI. She is from the well-known Meier-Madows El Jezebel EX-92 family. Another successful breeding product at Zwanebloem Holsteins is Zwanebloem Bourbon Ruslana VG-86, who is the grandmother of DGF Rollo @ AI-Total.

Wilcor Holsteins (DE)
This year started great start for Wilcor Holsteins, Germany. They took eight cows to the 51st Schau der Besten 2025 and came home with the Intermediate Champion, Senior Champion and Grand Champion titles! The 3-year-old Wilcor Chief O'Katy EX-90-DE, co-owned by Blondin Sires won the Grand Champion title. This young and promising Chief daughter goes back to the Swiss phenomenon Decrausaz Iron O'Kalibra EX-97-CH! In 2024 the Wilcor Sale 2 was taking place at their farm, 91 of 92 lots were sold with an average price of 4500€. We're looking forward to the offering of the third edition of the Welcome to Wilcor Sale 2026!

Tirsvad Genetics (DK)
With two of the three bulls, they dominate the NTM genomics ranking for December 2025! An unique moment, because the Nr. 1 NTM sire and the Nr. 2 NTM sire are brothers and are from Tirsvad Freewood Mona Lisa P VG-86-DK 2yr. The Nr. 2 NTM sire is VH Mads P, a polled Mecanico son at 48 NTM. His maternal brother, the Nr.1 NTM sire is VH Sherrif, he is sired by Owen and guarantees +51 NTM. Mona Lisa P VG-86 is straight out of Tirsvad 3STAR Simon Mojito P EX-91 and goes back on Pen-Col Superhero Mistral EX-91. Another interesting cow at Tirsvad Genetics is Amber PP Red VG-86-DK 2yr., she is a polled Solitair P Red daughter and delivered many sires to AI, with for example Member PP Red, Ranking P Red and Ambo P Red

Gaec Toullec (FR)
Gaec Toullec is a farm with 3 generations and are milking 110 cows with 160 heifers. The herd has intensified its selection for 15 years by investing in heifers or embryos from renowned families in France or North America and working with ET transplantions. Gaec Toullec is a partner of the Genes Diffusion breedingprogramm, to create bulls and heifers who are interesting for foreign insemination centers, combining high indexes in higher morphology. The families of CAPJ Bolton Cherry, JB Toullec Roy Roxy, NH Aschley and KHW Regiment Apple in particular are massively worked, with this year, more than 50 flushes, and some heifers are in the IVF programm. Current examples bred by Gaec Toullec are the bulls ALI RED JBT sold to SEMEX, THE ALPS JBT, sold to ABS St JACOBS and ALAN JBT, sold to ASCOL.

Evening Holsteins (UK)
You can't have missed it! The latest EX-97 cow in the United Kingdom was bred by Evening Holsteins and won the Grand Champion title for the third year running last month: Evening Sidekick Jennifer! This tremendous Sidekick daughter produced in her 4th lactation in 305 days 15.605kgM with 3.8%F and 3.5%P and just started with her 5th lactation. Evening Holsteins has several interesting heifers in their barn, including calves from the family of Luck-E Altitude Attie Red EX-92 and Whinchat Stanleycup Farrah EX-96!

Schönhof Holsteins (AT)
Rupert Wenger, a young breeder in Austria had a great year with their fantastic cows. They've bred the tremendous Alligator daughter and Res. Champion Expo Bulle: Schönhof's Alligator Dakota, sold to Mattenhof Holsteins. Won 2x their class at the International Dairy Show Cremona 2025, was Premier Breeder and Exhibitor R&W Cremona 2025 and Premier Breeder and Exhibitor All Breeds Cremona 2025. An unique achievement for this young breeder with bright future!
